Chinese blogger risks his life to post photos of re-education centres where people who 'have been caught with Facebook on their phone are thrown'

A blogger has risked his life to post pictures on Twitter of centres where he alleges Chinese people are sent if social media accounts are found on their phones.

The blogger known as Kasim claims that in China's heavily Muslim Xinjiang region those caught with Facebook on their phones are  sent to re-education' centres to clamp down on their social media use.

Re-education centres have swept across Xinjiang, a territory half the area of India.

The government says the camps are re-education and training facilities, and have been highly successful in stopping attacks previously blamed on Islamist militants and separatists, but rights groups say they are internment camps.
