Xi visits Uyghur territory despite reports of crimes against ethnicity

According to data from the UHRP (Uyghur Human Rights Project), around 1.8 million Uyghurs and other people of Turkic origin have been detained in concentration camps since 2017. There are also reports of enforced disappearances, torture, sexual violence, coercive birth prevention campaigns, and widespread destruction of cultural and religious sites.
