Uyghur Muslims call on Australia to join United States in accusing China of genocide in Xinjiang

In a press release, the Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) said the US determination to call the situation a genocide “has substantial implications for future bilateral relationships between China and other governments”.

“The implications are enormous. It’s unthinkable to continue ‘business as usual’ with a state committing genocide and crimes against humanity,” UHRP executive director Omer Kanat said.
