UAA/UHRP Launches Youtube Channel

In January 2013, the Uyghur American Association and Uyghur Human Rights Project launched a new Youtube channel. The channel provides a new forum for Uyghur rights activism, and will house an oral history project focused on exploring the stories of Uyghurs living in asylum. For the first interview in December 2012, Greg Fay from the Uyghur Human Rights Project sat down with Uyghur activist Gulamettin Pahta in New York to discuss his experience fleeing East Turkestan on the eve of the Communist Revolution in 1949, and how he came to the United States.
