• In the U.S.: call or write your Senators, Representative and the White House to support the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2018 

  • Encourage professors to nominate  Professor Ilham Tohti  for the Nobel Peace Prize. Eligible to send nominations: professors of history, social sciences, law, philosophy, theology, and religion. Details here:  https://www.nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/  The deadline is February 1.

  • Write to the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies  urging action to trace missing family members of Uyghurs abroad.

  • Write to the International Olympic Committee  and your  National Olympic Committee  (USA:  international@usoc.org)to urge reconsideration of holding 2022 Olympics in a country maintaining concentration camps for Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims.

  • Write to companies with operations in Xinjiang urging them:  

    • to cease operations and sales as long as the Xinjiang Regional Government continues to operate concentration camps and total-control measures of collective punishment, including separating children from their living parents and other relatives, and/or

    • as a matter of political-risk transparency, to disclose whether any of their operations have assisted the government policy of total control and persecution of Uyghurs from all walks of life; whether any of their employees or  have disappeared or been detained; and what they have done in response.

  • If you are a scholar or academic, sign on to the Statement by Concerned Scholars on China’s Mass Detention of Turkic Minorities

  • Urge universities, publishing houses, and exchange programs to suspend exchanges and cooperation with government institutions as long as the government continues to operate concentration camps holding two million or more Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims.

  • Support UHRP’s campaign to end ‘business as usual’ with China and close the camps.
